Explore West Palm Beach

As its name suggests, West Palm Beach has both the palm-fringed streets and the lovely beaches which lure visitors.

But take a step away from the beach and a water taxi, a trolley and even a bicycle taxi or horse-drawn carriage will take you downtown to another world – the trendy, vibrant Clematis Street Retail and Entertainment District.

It is an historic five block-long four block-wide locality where you will find beautifully restored historic buildings housing restaurants, retail shops, galleries, and clubs and where you will find music and fun. You’ll also find some of West Palm Beach’s cultural venues like the Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts and the Norton Museum of Art which houses a world-renowned collection of international art.

If culture is not your thing, West Palm Beach also offers family fun with the Palm Beach Zoo at Dreher Park, the South Florida Science Museum, a hands-on science center, aquarium and planetarium, and Lion Country Safari where two parks provide a drive-through safari, a thousand roaming animals, a walk-through animal park, boat tour, paddle boats, water play area, miniature golf, restaurant, gift shops and picnic area. The Museum at Ragtops is a designated historic facility with collectible and classic automobiles displayed among antiques and memorabilia.

Okeeheelee Park has picnic areas, nature trails, fresh-water fishing, lakes, boating, water-skiing, a BMX track. Also on site is an 27-hole golf course, playgrounds, tennis courts, ball fields, soccer fields, exercise course, and new Dog Park.
