The Nixon Library is housed in a 52,000 square foot building, offers a tale of president Nixon’s life and profession. Behind the museum is Nixon’s Birthplace, the home built by Nixon’s father was built using a homebuilding kit at the time; and the home was restored recently to as it was in 1910. Nixon and his wife are buried in the yard behind their home, and this is just a few yards from the Birthplace.

Since the state of California does not allow the burial of mortal remains on private property, the planned burial plot at the Nixon Library had to be given to a local church that declared the place to be a cemetery to comply with the law.

There is a wide collection of memorabilia, formal clothing used by the president, and photographs of Nixon, his wife Pat, and kids. This collection has a variety of bronze figures of world leaders who had significant associations with Nixon as President or before he became president in his role as Vice-President under President Eisenhower. The leaders’ bodies have been precisely recreated in lightweight bronze over a fiberglass casing, and they are fully clad in their real clothes.

The records and archives that opened in March 1994, has approximately 6.2 million pages of records as well as general photographs, film reels, and recording.
