Disney World Makeovers
Some kids grow up loving to play dress-up. Others can’t wait to learn how to do their hair and makeup. If cosmetology is your passion, there are a number of makeover opportunities you can experience in Walt Disney World. One is just for kids, but that’s why you take them along, isn’t it?
Here are four things to do in Walt Disney World if you love makeup.
1. Face painting
The easiest way to get some fun makeup at Walt Disney World is to stop by one of the face painting stations. They’re located throughout the parks (although I’m not sure of the status of the one in the Magic Kingdom since it used to be in Mickey’s Toontown Fair) and Downtown Disney. You can choose from a variety of designs for about $10-$20, and no appointment is needed.
2. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique
For a little more time and money, you can get your little girl transformed into a princess at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. This makeover is more about hair than makeup, but all the packages include shimmering makeup. Packages start at $54.95, and reservations are strongly recommended. You can choose the Magic Kingdom or the Downtown Disney location. Note that kids must be age 3 to 12 to get a makeover at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.
3. The Pirates League
The makeovers at The Pirates League involve more makeup than those at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, especially the Cursed Pirate and Multi-eyed Jack effects. You can see the most of the options here, although the newer Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Mermaid options aren’t shown. Packages start at $29.95, and reservations are strongly recommended. The Pirates League is located in Adventureland in Magic Kingdom, and adults and kids are welcome.
4. DiVine
Once again, I have to mention DiVine. Like her costume, her makeup is impeccably done to help her blend into her leafy environment. It’s worth the time to seek her out in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Final Word
Unlike most lists here on Vacationearing, it’s impossible to try all of these experiences in one day, unless you wash off the makeup in between, but what would be the fun of that? If you have at least three in your group, though, you could have one person get their face painted, one kid visits the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and another person visits The Pirates League. That could all happen in the Magic Kingdom (assuming the face painting station is open), and then you could head over to the Animal Kingdom to find DiVine. If the Magic Kingdom face painting station is closed, you could visit the one in DinoLand U.S.A. in the Animal Kingdom.
