One of the best freebies of the year is Free Comic Book Day on Saturday May 4!Free Comic of The Tick

Get your superhero fix or have the little ones pick out their first comic book for free! With 52 titles available to choose from, there’s a comic book for every fan. The titles includes 12 gold titles which most stores will carry. Forty silver comics are also available depending on which participating comic book store has them.

“There’s a character, creator and storyline for just about everyone,” said FCBD spokesperson, Leslie Bowser. “The publishers have a lot to offer comic book fans—and those new to comic books—with this year’s Free Comic Book Day titles.”

I’ve got the fever and spent an hour last night reliving time in an 80s arcade by playing this official Pac-Man game on my Droid. It looks just like the original arcade version. Use the virtual joystick to play either classic Pac-Man with 256 levels with full free play or in tournament mode with one free tournament a day. For tournaments you have to register for a a free Bandai Namco ID to play.

To play more tournaments you get buy extra play for under $1 and mazes are updated every week. Plus you have the opportunity to win prizes such as ghost plushies.

Why the Trek freebie? Hulu is making the free viewing offer in honor of William Shatner’s birthday. Shatner, for non-Trekkers, embodied the original series Enterprise captain, James T. Kirk.

Access to this offer is available through Ancestry’s promotional Facebook page. Each day a new database is revealed.

There’s also a sweepstakes you can enter during the 15 celebration. Each day offers a different prize and each time you enter you are given an entry for the grand prize: an opportunity to go behind the scenes of the TV show, Who Do You Think You Are, with executive producer and former Friends star, Lisa Kudrow.

Ancestry is actually a pay site for most of its genealogical collection, but for 8 days you can search through their immense  immigrant and travel records for Free!
