Upper-middle-class The Pearl South Padre is a pet-friendly beach resort with 256 rooms, all of which have partial or full ocean views. The hotel also rents out condos with kitchens and up to three bedrooms, but the decor is inconsistent. There is a special kids’ pool next to the resort’s enormous main resort pool, as well as a kids’ camp accessible during summer vacation. There is also a main restaurant and a seasonal restaurant by the main pool, which has a swim-up bar.
Pearl South Padre Resort has been a popular beachfront family resort in South Padre for years. However, recent reports suggest that the resort’s standards have dropped significantly over the past few months. Guests have reported issues such as inadequate customer service, unclean facilities, and a lack of modern amenities.
The resort’s once-stellar reputation as a safe and family-friendly destination is beginning to suffer due to these reports. The staff appears uninterested in addressing any of the guests’ concerns and inquiries are often met with indifference or frustration. Furthermore, many of the promised amenities such as swimming pools and hot tubs are either closed due to disrepair or too crowded to enjoy – causing even more disappointment among visitors.

Kalahari Resort, Round Rock – This new resort has a fun African safari theme, a huge arcade with escape rooms, zip-lines, and climbing walls, several eateries, outdoor pools, an open-air stage, and an open market, and a wonderful family-friendly experience! The Grotto, an indoor swim-up bar, is a must-see for adults.
Moody Gardens Hotel, Galveston – This hotel, situated next to the Moody Garden pyramids, has a fantastic pool, golf course, activities, and restaurant. Although it is not on the beach, it is close to Schlitterbahn Galveston.
