Smithsonian Free Museum Day Sept. 26: Visit 1000+ U.S. Museums for FREE

September 22, 2009 |  by  |  Uncategorized

Wish you could visit a favorite museum or museum you’ve never visited for FREE? You’ll get your chance this Saturday, Sept. 26 during the annual , when 1000+ museums and cultural venues across the U.S. open their doors for FREE!

It’s easy to find a participating museum. Visit the Smithsonian Magazine’s Website and use the drop down menu to find museums in any state. Then click on the individual venue’s link to find out more about it. How about the Air & Space Museum in San Diego? The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston? Or the South Street Seaport Museum in NYC? Or click on our city page links to find a list of local museums, too.

What’s the catch? You just need to flash the Smithsonian Museum Day card at the door. It’s easy to get one. Download it from the Website and print it out! Yep, it’s that simple. Be sure to print up one for every person in your party.

Can’t get out to a museum on Saturday? There’s always next year!

  2. Museum Day is usually the last Saturday and sometimes Sunday of September. I’ve contacted the event coordinators to see if a 2010 has been locked in. Thanks for your comment!
