It normally costs a fee to use most of Ancestry.com’s ever growing genealogical databases. But from now until Oct. 15, Ancestry is making a special database available for free on each of the 15 days. On day 3, for example, you can research the California Marriage Index for free.

Access to this offer is available through Ancestry’s promotional Facebook page. Each day a new database is revealed.

There’s also a sweepstakes you can enter during the 15 celebration. Each day offers a different prize and each time you enter you are given an entry for the grand prize: an opportunity to go behind the scenes of the TV show, Who Do You Think You Are, with executive producer and former Friends star, Lisa Kudrow.

Want to know how to keep researching for free after the 15 days? Ancestry offers a 14-day free trial of all of its databases. You must sign up for an account and give them your credit card information. They won’t charge anything until after the 14 day period, so be sure to cancel before then if you don’t want to pay of additional service.

You can also start and keep your family tree online for free at Ancestry.com. Once you start your tree, Ancestry will offer you free tips on how to further your genealogical research.

Enjoy the free family fun!
