Celebrate National Coffee Day Sept. 29 with Free Cups of Java!

September 27, 2011 |  by  |  Free Coffee

Java up with a Free Cup of Joe on National Coffee Day, Thursday, Sept. 29!

*This just in…McDonald’s confirms SELECT stores are giving away 12 oz cups of its premium roast coffee until midnight! You must CALL your nearest locations to see if they are participating.

The big coffee shops such as Starbucks, Peets and Coffee Bean haven’t made any announcements for freebies to celebrate, but you can easily find free java at any 7-Eleven. The mini-market is giving away a free cup for all patrons between 7am and 11am, natch! All 7-Eleven stores nationwide are participating and you can choose from a free medium-size cup of hot coffee, cappuccino or latte while supplies last.

7-Eleven kicks off its free offer with a real-life online interactive Facebook game, Dip-A-Drip on September 28. This is not your typical “farm the coffee plantation” animated game. It’s linked to a live component in Washington, D.C. where drips — those obnoxious, over-the-top stereotypes who get on your last nerve — are dipped into a truly super-sized 7-Eleven coffee cup. On FB you a get a chance to launch a ball that dips the drip. The twist is that the giant coffee cup is real and the setup is live in Union Station in Washington, D.C., so that your actions within the Facebook app result in real-life dipping, real-time. *Thanks to free fun contributor Judy Colbert for the tip!
