Free Admission to National Parks on Public Lands Day September 29!

Get back to nature on a national scale and visit a National Park for FREE on Saturday, Sept. 29. All 397 National Parks and all other national public lands are admission-free for National Public Lands Day. The fee-free day for national parks, forests, trails, monuments and other public lands falls on the same day as the Smithsonian Museum Day, when hundreds of U.S. museums are also admission free.

National Environmental Education Foundation

The day is designed to encourage people to volunteer to help clean-up and restore the natural beauty of these lands. If you love the outdoors, consider signing up or just show up for one of the volunteer projects at dozens of public lands sites on Saturday. Spend the morning volunteering to restore our national natural treasures, then spend the afternoon just enjoying and exploring them.

If you love visiting national parks consider buying the $80 annual pass that gives you entrance to all 2,000 national parks, national wildlife refuges, national forests and other Federal public lands. The America the Beautiful National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass is free for all active duty military members and their dependents.
