For all of the deals for Vets, you’ll have to show some form of proof of service or military ID. Check each site to see what’s required for the free meal deal. Some places will even accept a photograph of you in military uniform, a commendation letter or you can just show up in uniform. Again, check each restaurant’s participation and requirements.
Joy to the Free!
U.S. Vets don’t have to settle for a can of beans this Veterans Day because Chili’s is offering a real free meal deal on Nov. 11!
If you are a veteran or on active military duty, head to Chili’s between 11am – 5pm and you’ll get to choose between these free meals:
Any Lunch Combo
Margarita Chicken Tacos
Santa Fe Wrap
Oldtimer w/ Cheese
Margarita Chicken
Chicken Crispers
Cobb Salad
Top it off with a yummy brownie sundae for the reduced cost of $5.
You’ll need to show proof of military service to get your Veteran’s Day free meal – a U.S. Uniform Services ID Card, a U.S. Uniform Services Retired ID Card, a Current Leave and Earnings Statement, Veterans Organization Card, a DD214, a photograph in uniform, or wear your uniform.
Nothing like a little free fun for serving or having served in the military. Outback Steakhouse is giving Veterans and those on active military duty a Bloomin’ Onion appetizer (these are big!) and a choice of any Coca-Cola drink, any time Nov. 7 to Nov. 11 (official Veterans Day).
The Outback signature Bloomin’ Onion is big enough to share, so bring your family or friends along. They’ll have to buy their own drink, though.
So how can you get in on this food freebie? Outback makes it easy! Just bring in one of these forms of ID:
U.S. Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S. Uniform Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement (LES), Veterans Organization Card (i.e., American Legion and VFW), DD214 Certificate, Veteran Identification Card (VIC), Photograph in Uniform or Wearing Uniform.
Enjoy!

Learn about unique and exotic pets from reptiles to rabbits at Petco’s monthly free and family-friendly educational event called “Meet the Critters.” This weekend, Nov. 5 and Nov. 6, the Russian Tortoise is featured. From 1pm to 2pm kids and guests of all ages can meet this friendly critter who has a personality much like a dog’s. The free event is great for kids who can participate in hands-on activities, while learning about interesting pets.

Got an October birthday? Bring your ID with your birthday on it to any PretzelMaker location Thursday, Oct. 20 and get free birthday bites! Find your nearest PretzelMaker location HERE. If you have not yet learned how to make pretzels from culinary classes via online universities, this may be a fun treat for you.
The promotion is to celebrate 20 years of PretzelMaker.
Our Free Fun Guides is grumbling a bit though. No October birthdays here! Guess we’ll have to console ourselves with PretzelMaker’s free ringtones.
I scream, you scream, we all scream for free ice cream at Marble Slab Creamery today, Sept. 28! Some people love great ice cream so much that they take culinary classes from colleges online in an effort to perfect their own recipes.
Marble Slab and its sister company, Maggie Moos Ice Cream and Treatery, are both handing out mini-waffle cone ice cream concoctions from 3 to 6pm today! I’m going to try the Cookie Dough Drizzle!

The catch? Not all ice cream shops are participating. California, for example, has only one shop offering the free ice cream, but thankfully for me, the shop isn’t too far away.
So before you drive, check HERE for participating Marble Slab Creameries and HERE for participating Maggie Moos.
Enjoy the free fun!
Thanks to the annual Smithsonian Museum Day, Free Fun Guides has something to look forward to every last Saturday in September! But it also means museum lovers have to make some tough choices — which of the hundreds of participating museums to see for FREE!
Smithsonian Magazine created Museum Day as a way to share the spirit of the Smithsonian museums, which offer free admission every day. Through the magazine’s sponsorship, hundreds of museums across the U.S. are opening their doors for free to anyone who shows a Museum Day Ticket. Its easy to get the Museum Day Ticket, which admits two people to a participating museum. First Sign Up Here for the free ticket. The ticket is emailed to you and then you have to print it out.
A pretty simple way of getting into a top rated museum for FREE!
(Not a museum type? Check out the Free Admission to National Parks and Public Lands on the same day, Saturday, Sept. 24!)
